Writing Sentences Independently
To develop the stamina, grip, and motor control needed for writing complete sentences independently.

Instructions
MONITORING POSTURE: 'Feet flat, back straight, paper slightly tilted, non-writing hand holds the page.' Good posture prevents fatigue and supports neat writing.
CHECKING GRIP REGULARLY: The tripod grip should be automatic by now. If not, provide grip supports. Watch for death grips (too tight) and floppy grips (too loose).
BUILDING STAMINA: Start with one sentence and gradually build up. By the end of Reception, aim for 3-4 sentences in one sitting.
FOCUSING ON FORMATION NOT SPEED: 'Take your time. I want to see your best letters.' Speed comes with practice; correct formation must come first.
