TEACHING RULER USE: 'Hold the ruler firmly with your helper hand. Keep the pencil against the edge. Draw slowly along.' Ruler control requires bilateral coordination.
MEASURING OBJECTS: 'How long is this pencil? Put the zero at one end and read the number at the other end!' Connect fine motor skill to maths.
DRAWING SHAPES: 'Use the ruler to draw a rectangle. How many straight sides do you need?' Combining measuring with shape knowledge.
BUILDING ACCURACY: 'Is your line straight? Did your ruler slip? Try holding it more firmly.' Self-correction develops precision.
