Instructions
SIMPLIFYING RULES: Full game rules are too complex. Use simplified versions: 'Everyone kicks the ball towards that goal!' Three or four rules maximum.
TEACHING POSITIONS: 'Some of us attack, some defend.' Introduce basic positions but allow flexibility — rigid positioning frustrates this age.
EMPHASISING TEAMWORK: 'Pass the ball to your teammate! Great passing!' Teamwork is more important than winning.
MANAGING EMOTIONS: Losing is hard at this age. Model sportsmanship: 'Well done to the other team! We'll try again next time!'
