Instructions
TEACHING FOLDING: 'Match the corners exactly. Press along the fold firmly with your finger.' Precise alignment requires careful motor control.
DEMONSTRATING STEP BY STEP: Show one fold at a time. Wait for all children to complete each fold before moving on. 'Is everyone ready? Next fold!'
STARTING WITH TWO-FOLD MODELS: A simple hat or boat requires only 2-3 folds. Success with simple models motivates attempting harder ones.
DEVELOPING SPATIAL LANGUAGE: 'Fold the top corner down to the bottom corner. Now fold the left side over to the right.' Origami is rich in spatial vocabulary.
