Instructions
STARTING WITH FENCES: Weaving wide ribbons through outdoor fence slats is the easiest starting point — large gaps and sturdy framework.
TEACHING THE PATTERN: 'Over, under, over, under — see the pattern?' Demonstrate slowly. Many children find the alternating pattern cognitively challenging at first.
PROGRESSING TO FRAMES: Move to card looms with slots, then basket weaving. Each progression requires finer motor control.
CELEBRATING PRODUCTS: Woven creations look beautiful and can be displayed or taken home. 'Look at the pattern you made!'
