Instructions
SETTING UP SAFELY: Fill the water tray to a manageable level. Ensure non-slip flooring. Put on waterproof aprons — mess is expected and welcomed.
MODELLING POURING: Demonstrate slow, controlled pouring: 'Watch — I'm tipping the cup gently. The water goes into this one!' Emphasise the wrist rotation movement.
PROVIDING VARIETY: Offer containers with different openings — wide cups, narrow-necked bottles, funnels. Each challenges the pouring action differently.
NARRATING ACTIONS: 'You're pouring! The water's going in! Oh — it's full! It's overflowing!' This builds both language and motor awareness.
