MODELLING JUMPING: Show children how to bend knees and push off: 'Bend... and JUMP! Both feet off the ground!' Many 2-year-olds haven't yet mastered two-footed jumping.
CREATING CHALLENGES: Mark lines to jump over. 'Can you jump over this stick?' Start very narrow and gradually increase width.
CELEBRATING SPLASHES: Puddle jumping is pure joy! 'What a massive splash! Jump again!' The fun motivates repeated practice.
BUILDING TOWARDS LANDING: Focus on bending knees on landing: 'Bend your knees like a frog when you land!' This develops safe jumping habits.
