PAPER TEARING: 'Tear the paper into the smallest pieces you can!' Using thumb and finger to tear builds the same muscles as pencil grip.
PICKING UP TINY OBJECTS: Picking up individual grains of rice or lentils with thumb and finger develops extraordinary precision.
MAKING IT PURPOSEFUL: 'Tear paper to make a mosaic picture!' 'Roll tiny balls to decorate your clay model!' Purpose sustains engagement.
