TEACHING LETTER FINDING: 'Can you find the letter A on the keyboard? Press it! Look — it appeared on the screen!' Start with familiar letters (their name).
POSITIONING HANDS: Show basic hand position on the home row. Don't expect touch-typing — just basic familiarity with keyboard layout.
USING TYPING GAMES: Simple typing games make practice fun. 'Pop the balloon by pressing the letter!' Gamification sustains engagement.
CONNECTING TO WRITING: 'Can you type your name? Can you type a sentence?' Digital writing alongside handwriting develops flexible literacy.
