Objectives

Materials
- Music player or educator's voice
- Simple props (hat, bell)
Instructions
1. Sing simple songs like 'The Wheels on the Bus' or 'Five Little Firefighters.'
2. Use hand motions and encourage imitation.
3. Bounce or sway baby gently to the beat.
4. Repeat favourites multiple times.
Educator tip
Slow down songs significantly for very young infants; speed up slightly for active toddlers.
Assessment
Observe and note: sustained engagement, sensory responses, early vocalisations, and attachment behaviours. Document using the Characteristics of Effective Learning framework (Playing and Exploring). Watch for rhythmic body movements, vocalization, and attempts to imitate gestures.
