Objectives
- Anticipate and respond to peek-a-boo with helper pictures
Materials
- Helper picture cards
- Cloth or small blanket
Instructions
1. Hide a helper picture under a cloth.
2. Say 'Where's the firefighter?'
3. Lift cloth and say 'Peek-a-boo! There's the firefighter!'
4. Encourage baby to lift the cloth themselves.

Build suspense with pauses and excited reveals.
Assessment
Observe and note: sustained engagement, sensory responses, early vocalisations, and attachment behaviours. Document using the Characteristics of Effective Learning framework (Playing and Exploring). Watch for anticipation, laughter, and attempts to uncover pictures.
