- Weather symbol cards (sun, rain, cloud, wind, snow)
- Simple daily weather chart
- Weather-themed books
Instructions
Make weather observation a daily ritual: 'Let's look outside! What can you see? What does the sky look like today?' Give children time to look and think.
Model rich descriptions: 'The sky is grey and cloudy today. I can see the trees moving—the wind is blowing them! It looks chilly outside.'
Introduce new vocabulary naturally: 'When it rains just a little bit, we call that drizzle. Can you say drizzle? Is it drizzling or pouring today?'
Ask children to choose the weather card and place it on the chart: 'Which picture matches our weather? The sunny one or the rainy one?'
