Instructions
TEACHING SAFE PREPARATION: Review knife safety, the bridge and claw cutting techniques. 'Bridge your fingers over the food for the knife to go under.'
DISCUSSING NUTRITION: 'Why are fruits and vegetables good for us? They give us vitamins to help us grow strong!' Link food preparation to health knowledge.
FOLLOWING RECIPES: Visual recipes with photos for each step. 'Step 1: wash the apple. Step 2: cut it into slices. Step 3: put it on the stick!'
EXPLORING TASTES: 'Which fruit do you like best? Can you try one you haven't eaten before?' Encourage adventurous eating through positive experiences.
