Instructions
STARTING WITH HOPPING: 'Stand on one foot — now jump! That's a hop!' Many 3-year-olds find this challenging. Hold one hand for balance at first.
COUNTING HOPS: 'Can you do two hops? Three hops? How many can you do?' Counting adds maths and gives a measurable goal.
INTRODUCING GALLOPING: 'One foot leads, the other follows — gallop like a horse!' Galloping is the precursor to skipping.
MOVING TO SKIPPING: True skipping (step-hop alternating feet) usually emerges around age 4-5. Don't rush it — galloping and hopping build the foundation.
