Instructions
CREATING THE BOOK: Work with families to gather photos of important people—parents, siblings, grandparents, pets. Create a sturdy, wipeable book for the baby to handle freely.
SHARING THE BOOK: Sit with the baby and look through their book together: 'Look, there's Mummy! And there's your dog, Biscuit! And look—that's Grandad!' Point and name each person.
USING DURING SEPARATION: When babies are unsettled, offer their people book: 'Shall we look at your photos? There's Daddy. Daddy's at work. Daddy will come back later.' This maintains connection.
UPDATING REGULARLY: Keep books current with new photos. Include setting photos too—key person, friends, favourite areas. The book bridges home and setting.
