SUPPORTING EXPLORATION: Carry or walk with babies outdoors. Let them touch leaves, feel bark, listen to birds: 'Can you feel the leaf? It's smooth and cool. Feel it on your cheek.'

MANAGING RISK POSITIVELY: Let babies experience minor challenges—uneven ground, gentle slopes, different surfaces. Support without over-protecting: 'You're walking on the grass! It's bumpy but you're doing it!'

FOLLOWING INTEREST: If a baby is fascinated by a puddle, stay there. If they want to pick up stones, let them (supervise mouthing). Following their lead builds confidence and agency.

NARRATING EXPERIENCE: 'The wind is blowing! Can you feel it on your face? The bird is singing—can you hear it? Look at the big tree!' Rich narration builds language alongside confidence.
