Instructions
READING TIRED CUES: Learn each baby's individual tired signs: eye rubbing, ear pulling, becoming clingy, losing coordination. Respond promptly: 'I can see you're getting sleepy. Let's get you cosy.'
CONSISTENT PRE-SLEEP ROUTINE: Follow the same sequence: dim lights, quiet voice, favourite song, comfort object. Consistency helps babies' bodies prepare for sleep.
GENTLE SETTLING: Stay close while babies settle. Pat gently, sing softly, provide reassurance: 'Time for sleep now. I'm right here. You're safe and warm.' Gradually reduce your involvement as they learn to self-settle.
RESPECTING INDIVIDUAL PATTERNS: Some babies need more or less sleep. Some settle quickly, others take time. Respect individual rhythms while maintaining consistent routines.
