SINGING BODY SONGS: Sing 'Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes', 'If You're Happy and You Know It', 'One Little Finger'. Touch baby's body parts as you sing, then encourage them to try.
USING MIRRORS: Hold babies near mirrors: 'Where's your nose? There it is! Where are your eyes? There they are!' Mirror play develops self-recognition and body awareness.
CELEBRATING BODIES: Use positive language about bodies: 'Look at your strong legs! They're learning to walk! Your clever hands can hold the cup!' Build a positive relationship with their own body.
