Instructions
MATCHING MUSIC TO MOOD: Play calm, slow music during settling times and lively music during active play. Narrate the connection: 'This music is so calm and gentle. It's rest time.'
RESPONDING TO MUSIC: Watch how babies respond to different music. Some may become still, others may bounce or sway. 'You're moving to the music! Your body likes this song!'
USING MUSIC FOR TRANSITIONS: Use specific songs to signal transitions: a particular lullaby for sleep, a welcome song for arrival. Consistent musical cues help babies anticipate what's coming.
SINGING PERSONALLY: Sing to individual babies using their name. Personal songs create connection and comfort: 'Theo's having his milk, Theo's having his milk, lovely, warm milk for Theo.'
