CREATING LEADERSHIP ROLES: Go beyond 'helper'—create leaders: Line Leader, Story Chooser, Outdoor Captain, Science Investigator, Art Director. Real titles build real confidence.
BRIEFING LEADERS: 'Today you're the Outdoor Captain! Your job is to check the weather, choose the equipment, and make sure everyone has a fun time outside. Ready?'
SUPPORTING WITHOUT TAKING OVER: Guide leaders without undermining: 'You're the Art Director today! What shall we create? Great idea! How shall we set up? You're in charge!'
ROTATING AND REFLECTING: Change leaders regularly. After each role, reflect: 'How was being Line Leader? What was easy? What was hard? What did you learn about leading?'
