Instructions
MAKING IT FUN: 'Can you put your wellies on before I count to ten? One... two... three... you're doing it! ... nine... TEN! You did it! Amazing!'
BREAKING DOWN STEPS: Use visual cards showing each step: 1) Find your coat 2) Put arms in 3) Do the zip. 'What's next? You check the card! That's right—zip it up!'
TEACHING TRICKS: Teach the 'flip trick' for coats: lay coat on floor, hood by feet, put arms in, flip over head. 'You did the flip trick! You got your coat on all by yourself!'
CELEBRATING INDEPENDENCE: Be genuinely enthusiastic about self-dressing: 'You put BOTH wellies on the right feet! And your coat! And your hat! You're amazing at getting ready!'
