Instructions

1. Read a circus story aloud and show the pictures.

2. Pause to ask who, what, where, when, and why questions.

3. Discuss new vocabulary and exciting parts.

Educator tip

Let students retell the story using their own words and gestures.

Assessment

Observe and note: sustained engagement, sensory responses, early vocalisations, and attachment behaviours. Document using the Characteristics of Effective Learning framework (Playing and Exploring). Monitor comprehension and story recall.
