Instructions
STARTING WITH FIRST LETTER: Most children learn their first letter before the full name. Make it special: 'This is YOUR letter!'
USING MULTI-SENSORY APPROACHES: Trace in sand, write in shaving foam, use rainbow writing (trace the same letter in different colours), form with playdough.
TEACHING CORRECT FORMATION: Use name cards showing starting point and direction. Consistent correct formation prevents bad habits.
PRACTISING IN CONTEXT: 'Write your name on your painting!' 'Sign in on the morning register!' Authentic purposes motivate practice.
