TALKING ABOUT CHANGE: 'Next year, you'll be in Year 1! That's exciting! Shall we talk about what Year 1 is like? What do you already know? What questions do you have?'
ADDRESSING WORRIES: 'Some children feel worried about Year 1. That's normal! Let's talk about those worries. What are you worried about? Let's see if we can help with those feelings.'
VISITING YEAR 1: Arrange visits to Year 1 classrooms: 'Let's go and see your new classroom! You can meet your new teacher and see where you'll sit. It's lovely!'
BUILDING CONFIDENCE: 'Think about everything you've learned this year! You can read, write, count, make friends, solve problems. You're SO ready for Year 1! I believe in you!'
