TEACHING AFFIRMATIONS: 'An affirmation is something kind you say to yourself. Let's try: look in the mirror and say I am kind. I am brave. I am clever. I am loved. How does that feel?'
MAKING IT DAILY: Include mirror affirmations in the daily routine: 'Before we start our day, let's visit the affirmation mirror. Choose your favourite affirmation and say it to yourself.'
CREATING PERSONAL AFFIRMATIONS: Help children create their own: 'What's something amazing about you? You're a good friend? Let's make that an affirmation: I am a wonderful friend!'
USING DURING DIFFICULTY: 'You're finding this hard. Go to the mirror and tell yourself: I can do hard things. I am strong. I will keep trying. Does that help you feel braver?'
