• Large floor puzzles
• Printed environment scenes
• Velcro or magnetic matching boards

Instructions

Offer puzzles with nature scenes. Support children in turning and placing pieces.

Narrate progress—'That piece is the sky!'

Assessment

Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Monitor effort, problem-solving, and image recognition.
