Rhythm and Clap Patterns
To develop auditory discrimination and pattern recognition through clapping and rhythm copying games.

Materials
- Drums or rhythm sticks (optional)
- Comfortable seating in a circle
- Visual rhythm cards (optional)
Instructions
Start with very simple patterns: clap-clap. 'Can you copy me? Clap clap!' Celebrate: 'You copied exactly!'
Build gradually: clap-clap-pause-clap. 'Listen first… now you try!' Give time for processing.
Use children's names rhythmically: 'A-mi-ra! Clap clap clap! Le-o! Clap clap!' Children love hearing their names in rhythm.
Add instruments: 'Let's try it on the drum! Bang bang… bang! Your turn!' Drums provide satisfying sensory feedback.
