Listening Lotto
To develop focused listening and sound identification through a simple lotto matching game.

Materials
- Sound lotto game boards
- Audio recordings of varied sounds
- Counters for marking
Instructions
Keep groups very small—two or three children—so everyone gets lots of turns and you can support individually.
Play each sound twice: 'Listen once… now listen again. What was that sound? Look at your board—can you see it?'
Name the sounds clearly when revealed: 'That was a drum! Boom boom boom! Can you see the drum on your board?' Let children place their counter.
Build vocabulary around each sound: 'The bird is tweeting. Birds tweet and chirp. Have you heard birds outside?'
