Shopping List Game
To develop auditory memory and following simple instructions through a shopping-themed game.

Objectives
- Remembers one or two items from a verbal list

Materials
- Role play shop with real or play food items
- Shopping baskets
- Simple picture shopping lists
- Till and play money
Instructions
Start with one item: 'Can you go to the shop and get me an apple, please?' Celebrate when they return: 'You remembered! An apple! Well done!'
Build to two items: 'I need bread AND milk. Can you remember both? Bread and milk.' Hold up fingers as you say each item.
Use the picture list as support: 'Look at your shopping list. What do you need? Point to each picture and say the words.' This bridges listening and visual memory.
Role-play being the shopkeeper: 'Hello! What would you like today?' Encourage children to request items using spoken language.
