Materials
- Air travel themed objects
- Paper bags (labelled)
- Number cards
Instructions
Prepare paper bags with air travel objects and hide them around the space. Children 'fly' to find their bag and count the contents.
Educator tip
Add airplane engine sounds during the 'flight' and create a landing zone where children can safely count their treasures.
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Observe ability to follow multi-step directions, count accurately, and sort appropriately for developmental level.
