Instructions

Practise counting forward and backward using airplane takeoff and rocket launch themes.

Educator tip

Record a countdown video with the class to play during transitions and celebrations.

Assessment

Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Observe counting accuracy in both directions at appropriate developmental level.
