Begin with simple peek-a-boo using your own face, covering and revealing yourself while saying 'Peek-a-boo!' with animated expression. Watch the baby's response—initially they may seem surprised each time, but over time they'll anticipate your reappearance with smiles and wiggles.

Progress to hiding toys under cloths while the baby watches. 'Where did teddy go? He's hiding! Can you find him?' Encourage the baby to pull the cloth to reveal the toy. Celebrate their discovery: 'You found teddy! He was hiding under the cloth!'

Make the game gradually more challenging by hiding objects under one of two cloths, then three. 'Which one is teddy hiding under? Is it this one... or this one?' Let the baby choose and search.

Use containers and boxes for more complex hiding games. Drop a ball into a box with the baby watching. 'The ball went inside! Where is it now?' Open the box together to find it.

Roll balls through tunnels or tubes, encouraging the baby to watch where they enter and anticipate where they'll emerge. 'Here comes the ball! There it is!' This builds understanding of trajectory and prediction.

Connect these games to everyday routines. When putting toys away, say 'Bye-bye, blocks! See you later!' This helps babies understand that things (and people) that leave will return.
