Instructions
CREATING MEANINGFUL JOBS: Assign real, needed tasks: plant waterer, fish feeder, snack helper, door holder, register helper. Real responsibility builds real confidence.
TEACHING THE TASKS: Show children exactly how to do each job: 'The plant waterer fills this small jug and gives each plant a drink. Not too much! Just enough.' Clarity enables success.
FOLLOWING UP: Check in without micromanaging: 'Have you done your job today? The fish are looking hungry! Remember—two pinches of food.' Build reliability.
ROTATING FAIRLY: Change jobs weekly. Let children choose where possible: 'Which job would you like this week? You haven't been snack helper yet—would you like to try?'
