Instructions
ARRANGING VISITS: Invite community helpers: firefighter, nurse, police officer, postal worker, lollipop person. Real people make the biggest impact: 'Today a real firefighter is visiting!'
PREPARING QUESTIONS: Help children prepare questions: 'What would you like to ask the firefighter? How about: What's the bravest thing you've done? Why did you become a firefighter?'
ROLE-PLAYING AFTER: Set up role-play areas based on visits: fire station, hospital, post office. Children process learning through play: 'You're being the firefighter! What are you rescuing?'
CONNECTING TO GRATITUDE: 'All these people help our community every day! They look after us. How can WE say thank you? Shall we make thank you cards?'
