Materials
- Programmable robots (Bee-Bot, Code-a-pillar, or similar)
- Floor mat with space theme or created path
- Planet markers as destinations
- Mission cards

Educator tip
If no robots are available, students can 'be' the robots while peers give them directional commands, making this an unplugged coding activity.
Assessment
Assess against Early Learning Goals (ELGs). Document evidence of 'expected' or 'exceeding' descriptors. Note: independent application of skills, ability to explain reasoning, and capacity to build on prior learning. Teacher observation of student's ability to programme robots, use directional vocabulary, and problem-solve.
