Follow the Dino

Materials
- Pull-toy dinosaur or rolling dino toy
Instructions
Pull the dinosaur toy slowly across the floor. Encourage children to follow it.
Educator tip
Call out 'Follow the dino!' and cheer when children catch up.
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Observe crawling, walking, and sustained attention to moving target.
