Instructions
1. Set up a 'helper supply store' with priced items.
2. Give each child $10 in play money.
3. Children must buy supplies for their helper.
4. Practise adding prices: 'Can I afford this?'
5. Make change if there's money left over.

Start with round dollar amounts before introducing coins.
Assessment
Assess against Early Learning Goals (ELGs). Document evidence of 'expected' or 'exceeding' descriptors. Note: independent application of skills, ability to explain reasoning, and capacity to build on prior learning. Observe addition accuracy, comparison of prices, and budget decision-making.
