Traffic Light Listening
To develop listening response and impulse control through a colour-coded movement game.

Materials
- Red, amber, and green circles on sticks or cards
- Open space for movement
- Music (optional)
Instructions
Introduce the rules clearly: 'When I hold up GREEN, you can run! When I hold up RED, you STOP! Let's practise. GREEN—go! RED—stop! Brilliant!'
Add amber: 'AMBER means walk slowly, like a snail! Slooooow walking. Not fast, not stopped—slow!' Build vocabulary around speed.
Narrate what you see: 'Everyone stopped! Fantastic listening! I can see frozen statues! Now… GREEN!' Keep energy high and celebrate good listening.
Add complexity: 'When I say GREEN and hold up green, you go. But if I SAY green and hold up RED—watch out! Which do you follow—my words or the colour?'
