Juggling Scarves
Scarf juggling develops hand-eye coordination and bilateral coordination.

Objectives
- Students will toss and catch scarves with increasing control.
- Students will demonstrate hand-eye coordination.
Materials
- Lightweight juggling scarves
- Circus music
- Open space
Instructions
1. Give each child one scarf to toss and catch.
2. Practise tossing with one hand and catching with the other.
3. Try tossing two scarves alternately.
4. Create simple scarf routines to music.
Educator tip
Scarves fall slowly, making them perfect for beginners.
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Monitor catching success and coordination improvement.
