Pink series booklets are the first 'real' books children read independently. Simple CVC text with picture support builds confidence and the identity of 'I am a reader.'

Instructions

1. Present booklet. 2. 'This is a book you can read all by yourself.' 3. Child reads page by page. 4. Discuss pictures. 5. Retell story. 6. Record in reading log. 7. Read to a peer or stuffed animal.
