- Tissue paper for tearing
- Glue sticks
- Green paper for grass base
Instructions
Provide a green paper base as the 'garden ground.' Offer pre-cut flowers, butterflies, and tissue paper for children to arrange and glue. Help infants feel different textures and watch colors being placed. Encourage toddlers to tear tissue paper and make their own choices about placement. Talk about colors and shapes as you work.
Educator tip
Accept all arrangements—the process of creating is more important than the final product.
Assessment
Observe children's fine motor control with gluing, their color and placement choices, and their engagement with materials.
