Traffic Light Time!
Toddlers learn best through experiential learning opportunities. Following multiple step directions are also an important skill for toddlers to master.

Objectives
- Identify the three colours of a stoplight
- Understand the meaning of each stoplight colour
- Create a stoplight drawing using red, yellow, and green
Materials
- Sugar paper (red, yellow, green)
- Cardstock or thick white paper
- Flannel (red, yellow, black/white and green)
- Glue
- White paper
- Red, green and yellow crayons
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Observe colour recognition, ability to follow multi-step directions, and understanding of stoplight rules.
