Bird Treats
Toddlers love learning how animals eat and move. Creating an opportunity to help toddlers safely watch birds allows for an opportunity to teach them a variety of science skills.

- Water
- Birdseed
- Flour
- Straws (cut in thirds)
- Biscuit cutters
- Foil, ribbon, spoon, PAM
- Oven and measuring cup
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Observe understanding of animal safety, ability to follow recipe steps, and scientific observation skills.
