• Use small muscles to peel or unwrap
• Anticipate what's inside a hidden object
• Explore using multiple senses

Materials

• Plastic eggs
• Washcloths or fabric wraps
• Small toys or rattles

Instructions

Wrap small toys inside fabric or eggs. Invite children to open and discover what's inside.

Narrate discovery: 'You found a tiny dino!'

Assessment

Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Evaluate grip, manipulation, and reaction to reveal.
