Word Study — Greek Roots (bio, geo, auto, tele, phono)
Academic English is built on Greek. 'Biology' = life-study. 'Telephone' = far-sound. 'Photograph' = light-write. Once roots are known, the dictionary opens. Indirect aim: scientific literacy, preparation for Greek and Latin study, etymological joy.
