Instructions
Children follow along with a patterned story, identifying repetitive elements and participating in reading.

Create individual booklets so children can illustrate and take home their own copies.
Assessment
Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Teacher observation for ability to recognise letters used to form words and identifying word patterns.
