Instructions
Children observe animal patterns through various media and create their own animal pattern prints.
Educator tip
Focus on comparisons between similar animals (leopard vs. cheetah spots, tiger vs. zebra stripes).

Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Teacher observation of student's active participation in discussion and ability to create an animal pattern.
