Materials

• Sugar paper
• Magazines with transportation images
• Scissors
• Glue
• Crayons
• Paint in primary colours

Instructions

Children create collages using images of flying machines and identify primary colours throughout the process.

Educator tip

Display completed collages in a 'gallery walk' format for families to view during pick-up time.

Assessment

Observe and note: ability to follow two-step instructions, use of new vocabulary in context, early problem-solving strategies, and sustained shared thinking episodes. Assess against Development Matters age-band expectations. Evaluate creativity, use of primary colours, and verbal explanation of artwork.
