Silver Stars Nursery School is a private Christian nursery school in South Africa for babies up to Gr RR, serving children from infants to 5 years. It is set on a beautiful 1-hectare plot and is described by the school as a well-established environment with a warm, secure, friendly atmosphere. The owners are full time involved in managing the school, and the school says its aim is to help each child reach their full potential while giving parents confidence that their children are receiving high quality childcare and education.
The school offers Afrikaans, English and dual medium classes. Its educational focus is early childhood education within a Christian setting. In its own words, Silver Stars is committed to maintaining an environmentally well maintained and eco-friendly farm atmosphere, and the school notes that the grounds include ducks, rabbits, chickens, and a diversity of bird life. The founders also state that they have excellent teachers and well-trained assistants for all the classes, which suggests a hands-on approach supported by staff who work closely with young children.
Daily life at Silver Stars appears to centre on a calm, caring nursery setting with a strong outdoor and farm-like character. The school asks that no child with a contagious illness, such as chicken pox, attend, and it says parents or guardians must undertake to pay school fees by signing the appropriate form. It also states that the school is closed for the December holiday. Families are asked to notify the school before 9:00 in the morning if a child will not be attending that day, and one calendar month’s notice is required if a child leaves the pre-school. The school also requires a re-registration fee of R500 per child per year, along with an application form, a copy of the child’s inoculation card, the birth certificate, and ID copies of both parents.
What makes Silver Stars distinctive is the combination of its Christian identity, its age range for very young children, and its farm atmosphere on a sizeable plot. The school presents itself as secure, friendly, and environmentally cared for, with a strong sense of personal involvement from the owners. It may be a good fit for families looking for a nursery school where children can learn in Afrikaans or English, or in dual medium classes, within a small-scale setting that emphasises warmth, care, and early childhood development.
