Happy Feet Pre-Primary and Daycare is in Morningside, Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and welcomes children from birth to Grade R, covering babies, toddlers, and preschool children. The school describes itself as a safe and nurturing environment for early learning and development, with a peaceful setting away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It places safety and nutrition among its priorities, and the atmosphere is presented as caring, stimulating, and supportive for young children.
The centre follows the guidelines for Early Childhood Education as laid down by the Department of Education, and English is the language listed for the school. Its daily learning is described in broad terms rather than through a long list of academic subjects, with a focus on fun learning activities and playtime supervision. The source also notes that the school offers a variety of extra-mural activities, and it has a Holiday Club programme that links to the learning curriculum through a theme-based approach.
Daily life at Happy Feet includes learning and play in a safe environment supervised by well-trained staff members. The school says that it does not close during school holidays, which means the Holiday Club is available during those periods. Holiday Club activities are held on the school premises and include interactive shows, with visiting children included in the programme. Emergency Care, also described as Ad hoc Care, is available for families who unexpectedly need childcare, such as when a nanny or carer is unavailable for the day.
What stands out in the school’s description is its emphasis on being both nurturing and practical for families with young children. The combination of early years care, holiday provision, and emergency care suggests a setting that aims to support parents as well as children. It may be a good fit for families looking for an English-speaking early childhood environment in Durban, especially those who value a calm setting, supervised activities, and year-round care options for children from infancy through Grade R.
